Case report-radar provides clear warnings to drivers
Coal mining company ashlandy installed the BR vision BR-PST01-B’s radar obstacle detection system to provide drivers with clear warning of people or obstacles when operating mobile equipment.
Huge machines continue to operate at the ashlandy site, working on rough terrain using a variety of materials including concrete, brick and asphalt, gravel roads, dirt roads. ashlandy general manager james liu explained: "due to the height of the vehicle and the central position of the driver, there is a two to three meter blind spot around the machine. Usually large vehicles can be spotted, but smaller vehicles and pedestrians are hard to see. Sometimes in your Walk behind you. In the BR-PST01-B system we purchased, there is a clear bibibi sound, but there are sounds from various machines in the mine. For pure hearing, even if the sound is loud, we cannot guarantee the safety of pedestrians. Whether the hearing is normal. So our BR-PST01-B is equipped with a RVC16 IP69K heavy-duty reversing camera. This camera is equipped with 20 night vision lamp beads, weatherproof and shockproof, and is designed for all-weather environments. Its existence can See everything at the rear of the car, pedestrians, and potholes, cliffs, steep slopes, etc. that cannot be detected by radar. It greatly enhances the safety of the vehicle and improves the confidence of the driver.”
ashlandy have installed their equipment on BR vision’s BacksenseR radar system. BR vision moves objects and provides visual and audible warnings in the cab to remind you not to focus the operator in all hazardous areas.
james liu, general manager of BR vision, sums up... "knowing that the radar system is there, it will alert me if there is an obstacle within a few meters of the vehicle, it gives me more confidence."
